 UFO sighting: Alien hunter thinks Google Maps pics are '100% proof' of UFOs over Florida

UFO hunter Scott C Waring claims to have discovered indisputable evidence of extraterrestrial activity over Florida. His proof? Google Maps snapshots.

Although scientists are yet to find evidence of life beyond Earth, many conspiracy theorists are convinced we are not alone. From blurry photos taken in the dead of night to questionable testimonies of so-called UFO abductees, there is a wide body of supposed evidence to support the existence of aliens. Scott C Waring, a popular conspiracist and self-title UFO expert, is a fervent believer in extraterrestrial phenomena.

On his blog, UFOSightingsDaily.com, Mr Waring frequently shares images and video clips that he believes support his bizarre theories and claims.

In his latest post, the ET hunter shared Google Maps images, which according to him, show seven spherical objects buzzing over Florida.

The images are dated to December 2002 and show satellite shots of Palm Beach, Florida.

The pictures all appear to show blue-grey-ish blobs over different parts of Palm Beach.

And this is not the first time Mr Waring has made similar claims on the internet.

He previously shared photos of what he claimed was a "metallic fat disc" over New Zealand that was spotted on Google Maps.

On another occasion, he claimed to have found an entire city and pyramid lurking underwater, off the coast of Cuba.

Mr Waring claims to have made this newest discovery a number of years ago but kept it hidden in his archive.

He has now discussed it on his blog and YouTube channel, where the "UFOs" were met with a mix of excitement and healthy scepticism.

He said: "I have said many times over the years that Florida has an alien base that runs from the ocean to under parts of Florida itself.

"This video of these seven UFOs are 100 percent proof of that.

"I mean two of the UFOs are actually materializing through the ground and have shadows on the from the trees nearby.

"The UFOs are each 60 meters across and all the same shape, but a few are tilted.

"All have a mist fuzziness around them, due to the propulsion systems."

One of Mr Waring's fans responded to the pictures: "Great catch."

And another person said: "Is there a chance that it was just one UFO hovering around but Google camera clicked it a different time periods and later pics were joined to make one?"

There was, however, one person who offered a much more mundane but plausible explanation: raindrops on the camera.

The person said: "Hmmm, so what's the reason you sat on these for so long? Is it because of Occams razor? The easiest possibility is most likely to be the correct one?

"To me, the obvious candidate is rain droplets caught by the camera.

"But I too could be wrong for I wasn't there to see one of these at the time the photos were taken either..."

There might be no telling what caused the UFOs - debris, raindrops or software glitches - but it is highly unlikely these are genuine UFOs.

But there is a well-understood psychological phenomenon that could explain Mr Waring's interpretation of the images: pareidolia.

Pareidolia is a peculiar trick of the mind that causes people to see recognisable shapes and patterns where there are none.
